Wanda Ann Hunter

Wanda Ann Hunter passed away suddenly on November 3rd; a few weeks short of 66. She was born November 27, 1956, to Luke and Yvonne Hunter in Columbus Ohio. Wanda Ann, as she was sometimes
called, attended South High School and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.  Wanda spent her whole life caring for others as a mother, daughter and as a home health aide. Wanda spent many years working for LifeCare Alliance, HealthPro, and Spring Home Health Care, sometimes having two jobs at once. In her later years Wanda cared for her mother, Yvonne until her death in April of 2020. Wanda enjoyed seeing her friends and family, and as of lately had started sharing family photos. Each person that was blessed to receive photos said how happy it made them.  Her biggest pride was her four grandchildren.

She texted each one of them every morning wishing them a good day. Wanda is survived by her children LeAnna Lightner, and son Gabriel (Earlene) Lightner, her siblings:Douglas Swann (Pamela), Mark Hunter (Pamela); Robert Hunter and Patricia Crockett; Aunt Mae Mapp and Uncle George Swann Jr. Grandchildren: Shawn Gier, Azavier Johnston, Jameson Lightner, Gabriella Lightner. Nieces: Yolanda Stewart (Geoff); Carla Jo Maxwell (James); Paula Coffman; Jameca Brown (Karlis); Joanna Mills-Sampson, Christian Wilson Crockett, Samantha Hunter; Courtney Barton (Miles); Tasha Standifer (Joe). Nephews: James Robinson; Bryan Triplett (Pammy); Douglas Swann II (Kim); Alex (Lou); Shawn Standifer. Great-nieces: Jamesha Robinson; Brittany Stewart; Deja Williams; Courtney Stewart; Kaiya Wingo; Kynteja Moss; Nieja Moss; Sydney Stewart; Temaya Wingo; Brya’n Triplett; Myla Hunter; Nailah and Amira Hunter. Great-nephews: Ted Wingo, Isaiah Stewart; Bryan Triplett II; Titus Coffman; Geoffrey Stewart; Douglas Charles Swann III; Sam Hunter; Kyle Wingo; Miles Barton and Great-great nephews: Ted Wingo Jr.; and Kodah Wingo; Goddaughters, Juanita Triplett and Shauntae Curtis; Long-time friends Gloria Smith and Golden Alston and a host of other family members.

Wanda was preceded in death by her mother Yvonne; Father Luke Hunter; brother Luke Hunter, Jr.; sister Mona Hunter; brother John Hunter; Riding Buddy Aunt Claudine Swann; sister in laws Crystal Hunter and Mary Hunter and nephew Ruben Standifer. Wanda’s caring and giving spirit will be tremendously missed by all who had the pleasure of experiencing it.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday, November 18, 2022, at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.).
