Deacon Will L. Roy

Will was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Uncle, Nephew, Friend, and a Mentor to many. He gave his life to Christ on June 5, 1978. He loved serving in all capacity in Ministry. He was very faithful being a pillar in his family, Deacon, teacher and worker. He was the custodial engineer for his church until his health would not allow him to serve. He did everything in excellence. He even held Bible Study at his place of employment.

Will retired with the City of Columbus after 31 years of service. He served as the President of CEA for over 17 years. He was an avid bowler, fisher, camper and vacationer. He enjoyed singing. He loved Star Trek. He loved working and enjoyed building relationships with any and everyone that he had ever met.

Will is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Hattie Roy and Mary Ivey Williams; father in-law, Joseph Williams; mother in-law, Bertha Williams; uncles, Tyrone Burton and Willie Reese; aunt, Birda Reese; daughter in-law, Jessica Roy; granddaughter, Ivey Roy; brothers in-law, Jeffrey Williams and Kenneth Williams; nephews, Billie Dee Williams, Jamel Williams, Donavon Williams, and Dominic Williams; great nieces. Mercedes McKnight and Kendra Williams

Will is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Elizabeth Roy; sons, Damon (Deynelle) Rogers, Juandel (Zakiya) Roy, and Nathan (Ashley) Koy; daughter, Debra (Tom) Feasel; grandchildren, Lady Elizabeth Roy, Denahi Rogers, Kamere Cowans, Alayah Roy, Dayana Rogers, Nanala Roy, Lily Feasel, Alanna Roy, Reza Jo Roy, Te’Mani Ali, DaQuan Tyson, and Daiaun Tyson; father, Willie Roy; mother, Ruby Roy; sister, Jeannine Porter; brother, Kevin Roy; aunt, Juanita Burton; sisters in-law, Lisa Thompson, Sharon (Eric) Jackson, and Rosetta (Gene) Johnson; brothers in-law, Joseph Williams, Anthony Williams, and Kevin Williams; special brothers, Pastor Al Ponder, Elder Joe Armstrong, Minister Richard and Donna Brown, Pastor Steve and Yolanda Fairfax, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Will ministered until God called him home. The scripture he loved was; “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Friday, December 27, 2019 at Rehoboth Temple, 1111 E. Long Street.

Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
