William Floyd Miller, age 91, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on December 9, 2023 surrounded in love by friends and family at Brookdale assisted living in Groveport, Ohio.
Bill Miller was born in Columbus, Ohio to Dora (Beltz) Tyree and Floyd A. Miller on May 24, 1932. He graduated from East High-school in 1950 with an interest in performing arts and sports. On February 19, 1951 Airman First Class (P) Miller, enlisted in the military, specializing in Aircraft and Engine Mechanics. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Air-force and was awarded several medals including: the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.
After the military he met the love of his life Mary Ellen Robinson. They eventually married and raised four children. As Mr. Miller invested time into raising a family, he also balanced work and education life at the DLA (Defense Logistical Support) in his role of Contributing to Aviation Support and simultaneously pursuing law at Franklin night school. He advanced very quickly at DLA through his devoted efforts before ultimately retiring. Soon after retirement, he fulfilled his dreams by opening a popular local jazz club.
William F. Miller is preceded in death by Dora (Beltz) Tyree (Mother), Floyd Miller (Father), Mary Robinson (Wife), Richard Barker (Brother) Dennis Miller (Son) Christopher Miller (Son), Nicole Miller (Granddaughter).
Mr. Miller is survived by Two Children: Risa Miller, Daryl Miller; Two Siblings: Judith Howard, Kathryn Crockett; Three Grandchildren: William (Monique) Alston, Malikeya Khantrece, Zekeyla Miller, Five Great Grandchildren: Stephon Ragland, Malin (Ravin) Ragland, Nareese Miller, Elijah Jones, Imani Burke, Kenzie Alston Cousins: Crystal Dowdy, Christian Dowdy; One niece; One nephew

Visitation 10:00 AM and Memorial Service 11:00 AM Monday, December 18, 2023 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd), with the Officiant William Alston. Following the memorial, the family repast will be held at The Berwick Banquet at 1:00 PM.
