William J. Carter, Jr.
, age 105. Sunrise September 15, 1909 and Sunset December 30, 2014. Mr. Carter was a WW II Army Veteran where he fought with the all black 92nd Infantry Division. He enjoyed playing the trumpet locally and throughout the United States. He loved the Buckeyes and was the oldest member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from The City of Columbus, The Postal Service and as a Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years Josephine Carter, parents Sofia and William Carter, brother Gustavus Carter and sons Joseph and Gene Holmes. Left to cherish his memory, son, John D. (Pat) Robinson, daughter Ernestine Saunders, special grandson Randy Jones, great granddaughter Suzanna Jones and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family, The Friendship Baptist Church Family and friends. Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Thursday January 8, 2015 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church 1775 W. Broad St. Interment with Military Honors at Eastlawn Cemetery
