William Loyd Whitehead, Sr.

WHITEHEAD, WILLIAM LOYD (“Big Red”)
was born on May 2, 1936 in Cedartown, Georgia to the late Arthur Sr and Mary Whitehead who precedes him in death. William is also preceded in death by his two brothers Arthur Jr, Robert Sr and his grandson Neil D. Whitehead.

William loved people and most importantly his family. He served as a member of the United States Air Force, stationed at Turner Air Force Base in Albany, GA prior to being employed by the City of Columbus Sewers and Drains for 32 years before retiring in 2009.

William departed this life Tuesday February 5, 2013 leaving to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 53 years, Betty L. Whitehead; Children: Linda Earley, Gilda Martin, Arthur Whitehead, William Whitehead Jr. (Delois), Beatrice Steward (Ronald Sr.), Regina Whitehead (Gerald) and Rodney Whitehead all of Columbus, Ohio. Phyllis White (James) of Albany, GA and Keith Boozer of Cedartown, GA. One nephew Robert Whitehead Jr of Cedartown, GA. Sisters in law: Rose Woods, Cora Davenport, Estella Buffington and Elizabeth Cook all of Cedartown, GA. Magnolia Bohanan (Leonard) of Columbus, Oh. Brother in law: Levi Cook (Marie) of Detroit, MI. Sixteen grandchildren ; twenty great grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends.
