William V. Collins

William V. Collins was born on June 28, 1926 in Rayland, Ohio to the late Frank Collins and  the late Leona (Holmes) Rivers.  William Collins went home to be with our Lord on Monday, December 19 , 2016.

William Collins was a member of Wayman AME church in Martins Ferry, Ohio from childhood until it closed.  Following the closing of  Wayman AME he became  a good and faithful member of Quinn Memorial AME Church in Steubenville, Ohio.  He joined St. John’s AME Church in Worthington after moving to Dublin in 2015.

Known to his friends as Bill, he graduated from Yorkville High School in 1944. He served in the Korean War and was a proud military bandsman. Bill retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel after 44 years of service.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Anna Mae.

He is survived by Mary, his wife of sixty years, daughters Robin (Vince) Blake and Patricia, grandsons Collin and Zachary, and sisters, Josephine and Viola (Dixon) as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and loving friends.
