William Wallace

William Edward Wallace AKA Wallie was born to the Late John and Lillian Wallace on October 20, 1935, in Urbancrest, OH. William departed his earthly home on Thursday March 17, 2022, at the age of 86. He attended Urbancrest Elementary and graduated from Grove City Highschool.

After William graduated, he became self-employed and purchased his own dump truck and garage and became the neighborhood mechanic. He had many skills and even built his own garage in Urbancrest next to his home which was located on a street now called Wallace Lane. He served his community by keeping the small Village of Urbancrest maintenance. He received the Ellen Walker-Craig Jones Community Service Award for his countless hours of dedication and devotion to the Village of Urbancrest Community. He received this award at his 85th Birthday celebration by the Major of Urbancrest.

William was an extremely hard worker over the years and had a charm that everyone loved about him. He was fun to be around and loved to entertain his family and friends especially at his kicking it spot “Wallie Woo’s” which was located inside of his garage. He would love to dance and do his infamous move “The Wallie Stomp”. He was also known for some of his infamous quotes “Stay on the Good Foot”; “You ain’t gotta work tomorrow”; “Use your head for more than a hat rack” and “You got snagged on a Bob-wire’’.

William was married to his first wife the late Maxine O’Bannon Bermudez and had 4 children. Several years later he married his second wife Donna Jean Wallace and had 2 children and 4 bonus children.

William is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Jean Wallace; his brothers, John Wallace Jr, James Wallace, and Harley Wallace; his sister, Ellen Davis; his son, Galen Wallace; his bonus son and grandson, Richard Scales and Ellis T’yon Scales.

William leaves to cherish his memory, his sister, Alice Belle; his sons, William Wallace Jr and Vincent Wallace; his daughters, Wancine (Thomas) Winbush, LuWanna Wallace-Simmons, and Tyra Wallace; his bonus children, Trina Scales, James Scales, and Cheryl Fikes; 25 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchildren. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation 12:00 PM and Funeral Service 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ Ministries, 3567 First Ave. Urbancrest, Ohio 43123. Masks are required.

Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
