William Westley Royal

William “Bro” Westley Royal, of Columbus, Ohio was born January 23, 1951 to William and Ermal Royal in Wheeling, West Virginia.  He was called home on June 16, 2021.

William was an honor graduate of Wellsburg High School, where he was a member of the Wellsburg Wrestling Team. After graduating from high school, he attended Marshall University and West Liberty state College. He also attended an Electrician Trade school and received an Associate of Science Degree in Electrical Technology.  William later attended Giant Eagle Butcher Academy where he became a Certified Butcher. He worked as a butcher at Giant Eagle grocery store in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and at Kroger’s grocery store in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.  He also held the position as a restaurant manager at the Waffle House in Westerville, Ohio.  William later obtained his Real Estate License in the state of Ohio.

Over the past six years, William fought a long and hard battle against cancer.  He never let his illness suppress his optimism to beat the cancer or take away his joy of doing EXACTLY what he wanted to do and how he wanted to do it.  William returned to Columbus, Ohio to be close to family and friends where he was able to restore relationships.  Even when he was not feeling well, he was determined to care for his mother up until the last two weeks of his passing.  He loved his family and he never wanted to be a burden to anyone, he was always willing to help if he could.  He had a very generous heart.  He will always be remembered for his generosity towards others, his love for family and friends, and his Chrysler Labaron with the diamond in the back with the white wall tires. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family, and all who knew him.

William is preceded in death by his father, William Royal; Brother, William Royal, Jr.; Maternal Grandparents, George and Mamie Taylor, and his paternal Grandparents, Washington and Arelia Royal. William is survived by his Mother, Ermal Royal.
