Willie L. Dorsey Jr. affectionately called "Junior" was born on November 18, 1944, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Willie and Christine Dorsey Sr. He grew up with his siblings Lantsey Mae Landers-Henry and Edward Dorsey, in a loving and supportive family. Willie attended Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
A man of deep faith and unwavering devotion, Willie served as a Deacon for over 30 years at Oakley Full Gospel Baptist Church and in starting in 2003 Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist, offering guidance, support and spiritual leadership to his community. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he led by example, always extending kindness, wisdom, and generosity to those around him.
He dedicated 30 years as a semi-trucker for United Parcel Service (UPS), playing a vital role in ensuring reliability and excellence on the road. After retirement, he opened his own landscaping business (Cut Rite). However, his greatest pride and joy was his family. He cherished his role as a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, mentor, and friend, in leading by example and instilling the values of faith, leadership and providing for loved ones in his 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He preceded in death by wife (Albertina Dorsey, as well as his parents (Willie and Christine Dorsey Sr.), sister (Lantsey Mae Landers-Henry), brother and sister-n-law (Edward and Marie Dorsey), daughter (Karla Dorsey), and other special family members that he dearly loved.
He is survived by his loving children Shenice (Tony) Palmer, Natasha McDaniel (Will Jackson), and Tiffany Dorsey. His cherished grandchildren Devin (Tareya) Palmer, Karlesha Palmer, Devante Davis, Chenelle (Marcel) McCaskill, Ramone (Nia) Davis, Chelsea Moore, Darius Davis, Laila Jones, Chantina Dorsey, AJ, and Austin. His great-grandchildren, Jeremie David, Kayden Davis, Justice Palmer, Khalani Davis, Zariyah McCaskill and Elijah McCaskill. As well as a host of extended family and friends who will continue to honor his memory.
His faith, love, and dedication to family and community will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
