Yvette Darlene Brown

Yvette Brown, age 74, affectionately known as “Auntie” departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2022 at the Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.  She was born on November 18, 1947 to Herman and Virginia Rozzelle.  She grew up in Urbancrest, Ohio and graduated from Grove City High School and then graduated from The Ohio State University.

Yvette was a proud and devoted member of the Love Zion Baptist Church for many years, serving in many capacities.  She served as Church Financial Secretary, Meals on Wheels, and in the Pastoral Choir.  Yvette was involved in the Outreach Ministry and was very active in assisting and helping to manage the food give aways and the Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets.  Yvette was extremely active and good at delegating (getting others to volunteer).

Yvette was also involved in Fulfillment Hour (Sunday School) and Bible Study, Eschatology Class.  She loved talking about God and His promise of eternal life with her Heavenly Father.

Yvette loved children and she managed the Echo Day Care Center.  She impacted hundreds of children and adults alike.  She later worked at the United States Postal Service.  She worked part time at Honey Baked and did taxes during tax season.  Yvette also coordinated church fund raisers for the church such as the Honey Baked Ham, the annual trip to the Amish Country, and Shopping trips.

Yvette loved people.  She had a willingness to serve and was a giver to others.  She will truly be missed!

Yvette was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Brown; her parents, Herman and Virginia Rozzelle; brothers, Pierre Rozzelle and Raines Rozzelle; and sister, Leneara Banks.

Yvette leaves to cherish her memory sister, Iris (George) Morris; stepmother-in-law, Ruth Brown of North Carolina; brother-in-law, Robert (Beverly) Kimber; special friend, Delores Pierce; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and her beloved Love Zion Baptist Church family.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday, January 28, 2022 at Love Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1459 Madison Ave. Mask and Social Distancing are required. Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates. Ministry of Comfort entrusted to MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
